The Rail Bypass

I suspect, once the dust settles, that the Keystone pipeline to the US will be built. But I would be astonished if the proposed pipeline through northern British Columbia will ever make it past the Indians and Environmentalists. Which is unfortunate but likely irrelevant.

The fact is that oil has been shipped by rail for a century and a half. The infrastructure is in place and the trains are already rolling. No doubt the more insane Greenies will lie in the tracks but that can be routed around.

The point is that Asia needs oil and is prepared to pay for it. We have that oil, so do the Americans. The tanker cars will roll and the greenies will lose.

Which cheers me up no end.
